So, about the SLAP.
See, here’s the thing. He had a right to be upset on behalf of his wife. He is carrying a load and dealing with stuff that we are out here making fun of, because we like to forget that actors, musicians, artists of all kinds are still people with real feelings, real pain, and real issues. Sorry… I digress.
Had he been exposed to Anger Solutions, he would have had the tools to express his displeasure with Chris Rock without causing damage to his reputation or his brand. He would have found a way to get “satisfaction” for the insult, while keeping his image intact.
By simply evaluating his environment, identifying his emotional response, and deciding on his desired outcome, he would have understood that his reputation and his image is worth more than a moment of satisfaction. He most likely would have chosen differently if he had just asked two questions: What is the best thing that can happen if I slap Chris? What is the worst thing that can happen if I lay him out?
Everyone is focused on the slap. This is what I see… the “worst thing” scenario: shame. Shame is going to hang around way longer than the feeling of satisfaction that immediately followed the slap. @willsmith, I feel your struggle. If you’d like to learn how to effectively express your big feelings without tarnishing your image or receiving any blowback moving forward, I got you.
